Feminist Frameworks—
“Thinking is an action. For all aspiring intellectuals, thoughts are the laboratory where one goes to pose questions and find answers, and the place where visions of theory and praxis come together. The heartbeat of critical thinking is the longing to know—to understand how life works.”
—bell hooks
“Our task is to make trouble, to stir up potent response to devastating events, as well as to settle troubled waters and rebuild quiet places.”
—Donna Haraway
Hello my loves,
Ella here. I wanted to include an intimate invitation for those of you feeling the call to sign-up for this training.
Whether it’s a barely-noticeable hum,
Or a resonant-clear in your heart,
I welcome you into this space.
When I started teaching in 2020, I read off of elaborate scripts I had written on my laptop. I am—at my core—an introvert, a homebody. Teaching was not something I had ever envisioned for myself. But the call to share knowledge + build connection around that knowledge, was stronger than my lack of preparation.
Today, I am wrapping up a year-long teaching fellowship at Harvard University, where I’ve been refining the craft of facilitation in an academic setting. This experience, alongside my own space-holding virtually + internationally, has finally prepared me to share this facilitation training with you all. I am eager to entangle in thought + feeling, to bathe in the nourishing words of our feminist intellectual ancestors, and to build new worlds for growth + healing— together.
See you soon, in the Zoom room,
